Telč group

is an interdisciplinary platform brings together academics, practitioners, and politicians who are long term and systematically engaged in the interdisciplinary applied research of public transport affecting economics, geography, legal, social and political sciences as well as history.

The aim of the group is to facilitate a professional view of problems of public transport both currently and in the past, and to offer practitioners, stakeholders and political decision-makers dialogue on sustainable transport concept and its effective development. To achieve this goal the group produces publicly available publications, and opinions on current problems and issues provided to the media, opinion free from political, financial and personal interests, opinions formed in linking academia and practice.

Membership in the group is open, based on active participation at common events and to the sharing of collective views on individual issues. The group is currently consists of academic staff of Czech and Slovak universities, professionals rail carriers, commissioner of transport services (Ministry of Transport, regional authorities and integreted public transport system coordinators) and the transport industry.

The most important common action of the group is Telč Seminar, held annually since 2004 at the Masaryk University Regional Centre in Telč. Members of the group and invited guests present and discuss at the seminar the results of individual projects and current problems of the public transport sector.
